Animal Feed Production Line

An animal feed production line turns raw grain and additives into finished pellets at a consistent size, density and moisture content. The process is the same in principle for poultry, livestock and aquatic feed, but the equipment differs: floating fish feed requires an extruder, while poultry and livestock pellets are normally produced on a pellet press.

A feed production line is built from the following equipment groups, all available from Rolangear:

• Grinding — water drop hammer mills and crushers reduce raw grain to a consistent particle size.
• Mixing — dual-axis paddle mixers and precision mixers blend the ground material with additives.
• Pelletising or extrusion — pellet presses for sinking feed, extruders for floating aquatic feed.
• Drying — vertical and commercial horizontal drying systems reduce moisture after extrusion.
• Cooling — counter-flow and integrated cooling systems bring pellets down to storage temperature.
• Screening and crumbling — screening systems remove fines; crumblers produce smaller particle sizes.
• Seasoning — precision and drum seasoning systems apply oil or flavour coatings.
• Conveying — bucket elevators and conveyors move material between stages.

A feed mill requires floor space for raw material intake and storage, the process line itself, and finished feed bagging and storage. Vertical clearance is required for elevators and the cooling tower. Three-phase electrical supply is required; specific loads depend on the equipment selected and are confirmed in the technical proposal.
