Tissue Paper Production Line

A tissue paper production line converts large parent reels of tissue paper into finished consumer products. The equipment required depends entirely on which finished product you intend to make — toilet roll, facial tissue, napkin and hand towel each follow a different converting route, and each needs its own combination of rewinding, folding, cutting and packaging machines.

For toilet roll production the line centres on a rewinding machine and a log saw cutting machine, followed by single-roll wrapping and bundle packing. For facial tissue and handkerchief production the line centres on interfolding and box-packing equipment. Napkin and hand towel lines use folding machines matched to the fold pattern and sheet size you require.

This suits manufacturers converting purchased parent reels rather than producing base paper. Converting is where most new tissue businesses start: it requires less capital than a paper mill, and the equipment can be added to progressively as demand grows.

A tissue converting line is normally built from the following equipment groups. The exact configuration depends on your finished product and target output.

• Palletising — end-of-line robot palletising where throughput justifies it.

Tissue converting requires a clean, dry production area with sufficient floor space for parent reel storage, the converting line itself and finished goods staging. Compressed air and three-phase electrical supply are required; specific loads depend on the equipment selected and are confirmed in the technical proposal.
