PET bottle production starts from injection-moulded preforms, which are heated and blown into the finished bottle shape inside a mould. The blow moulding machine is specified by cavity count and bottle volume — a two-cavity machine producing 0.6 to 2 litre bottles serves a different output level from a four-cavity machine.

Rolangear supplies semi-automatic and automatic blow moulding machines, including two-cavity 0.5 to 2 litre machines and four-cavity PET bottle blowing machines. Alongside these, the catalogue includes the filling, capping and labelling equipment needed to complete a bottling line: liquid and bottle filling machines, rotary and linear capping machines, and round-bottle and flat labelling machines.

This suits beverage and liquid product manufacturers who want to produce their own bottles rather than buy them in. Blowing in-house removes bottle transport cost and gives control over bottle design, which is why many bottling operations add a blowing machine as their first capital step.

Production process

  1. Preform Feeding

    Injection-moulded preforms are loaded and fed into the machine.

  2. Preform Heating

    Preforms pass through an infrared heating tunnel to reach forming temperature.

  3. Blow Moulding

    Heated preforms are stretched and blown into the bottle mould under high pressure air.

  4. Filling

    Finished bottles are filled with the product.

  5. Capping

    Closures are applied and tightened.

  6. Labelling

    Labels are applied to the filled and capped bottle.

A PET bottling line is normally built from the following equipment groups:

  • Preform handling — preforms are loaded and fed to the blowing machine.
  • Blow moulding — semi-automatic or automatic machines, specified by cavity count and bottle volume.
  • Filling — liquid and bottle filling machines matched to product viscosity and fill method.
  • Capping — rotary, linear and pneumatic capping machines matched to your closure.
  • Labelling — round-bottle, double-side and sleeve labelling machines.
  • Conveying — air and belt conveying between stages.

Factory requirements

A bottling line requires a clean production area with sufficient floor space for the line in sequence, plus preform and finished goods storage. Compressed air at high pressure is required for blow moulding; three-phase electrical supply is required. Specific loads and air requirements depend on the machines selected and are confirmed in the technical proposal.
